Christ now they're shilling for Northrop Grumman

I don't know who NGEN are, but it's amazing that they were able to recruit the best of the best and it happened to be 4 elite soldiers from 4 different ethnicities.

I mean, what are the chances?

Pandering to the sjw crowd and defense companies at the same time. Marketing genius!

>UPDATE – Statement from Marvel:

>“The activation with Northrop Grumman at New York Comic Con was meant to focus on aerospace technology and exploration in a positive way. However, as the spirit of that intent has not come across, we will not be proceeding with this partnership including this weekend’s event programming. Marvel and Northrop Grumman continue to be committed to elevating, and introducing, STEM to a broad audience.”

That's fucking hilarious! I was actually looking forward to see what they did with the partnership (remember when Marvel did Kid n' Play comics?) and now they've collapsed under the pressure of tweets, leaving me holding my dick.

I shouldn't have expected otherwise, but they just proved again that they are listening to people that don't buy comic books for their business advice.

Anyone know of any weird superheros? I just found out today about a DC superhero named Dogwelder. What's his power you might ask? He pounces on people and welds dead dogs to their face.

In the Golden Age I believe Marvel (Timely?) had a supervillian that used cupcakes as a weapon. I don't remember his name, so researching it is difficult.

The Golden Age really had some of the best baddies, like Armless Tiger Man.

>While working in a German factory, Gustav Hertz got his arms caught in a machine. They had to be removed, and he learned to hate machines. He then trained to become a fearsome threat even without his arms, becoming the vicious, cannibalistic Armless Tiger Man.

What the hell are you getting this week, Finalchan?

A much better week for me than the last one.

Red Sonja #9. This has been a fun romp, with Red Sonja defeating her arch-nemesis, so he freaks out and rips a portal that cuts through time and space. Red Sonja gets sucked into the portal also, and they each get dropped off in different time periods. Sonja gets discovered by a police officer in the year 2017, and she learns that her enemy has amassed a great wealth using his magic to shape a large corporation with massive influence. So basically, Red Sonja in modern times, trying to figure all our "magic" technology out. Sword, boobs, and fighting.

>The cross-country adventure continues as the She-Devil makes her way across the wild, wild West. Sonja discovers just how big America really is as she tries to stay one step ahead of the law, with a little help from her friends Spike and Holly.

X-Files Origins II #4. Mulder and Scully as kids. They don't know each other in thise series, so half the book is about Mulder and his friends investigating crash landings, weird glowing ooze, and linking strange events to the organization his friend works for. Flip the comic over and you get a story about Scully trying to figure out how the guy that was arrested for murdering her Sunday School teacher was just on TV as the pilot of an aircraft that crash landed in California…

Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

Only two books for me this week. I've recently been looking into some more independent comics. Might check out what Humanoid is publishing these days. I hear good things about them.

Going to get *Glitterbomb: The Fame Game* #1 because I really enjoyed the first volume.

>aydon Klay wants to be famous. She wants it more than anything else she's ever known. The dream is hers for the taking, and all she has to do is embrace the national tragedy that's put her in the spotlight… Fan-favorite writer JIM ZUB (WAYWARD, Uncanny Avengers) and artist DJIBRIL MORISSETTE-PHAN (All-New Wolverine, Ultimates) continue their twisted exploration of fame and failure. The entertainment industry feeds on our insecurities, desires, and fears. You can't toy with those kinds of primal emotions without them biting back.

And getting *The Courier* #5 to complete the story. It started off with a motorcycle courier making a delivery of medicine across a world that has been ravaged by alien/monster/zombie-like creatures, and then she gets caught in a bad situation when the leader of a gang gets murdered thanks to the decisions of his brother, with our protagonist getting the blame.

>FINAL ISSUE ! Eve sneaks into the Specters makeshift basecamp to rescue Franklin in the middle of the night. But when things go awry, Eve and Franklin have very little time to get away. With a bloodthirsty Jansen on the duo's tail, Eve knows her and Franklin are going to need to make a stand against impossible odds. Don't miss the final issue of Zenescope's hit series: The Courier!

This book is getting rave reviews across the internet. Even from people who have turned their backs on Gail Simone. I doubt it's possible to find a copy anymore, but I'll swing by the local shop and see if they have a stray.

Anyone read this today?

I enjoyed the Legion of Doom headquarters cameo among others along with Batman being defeated by his obsession with solving the mystery

Okay, so explain this to me. The coolest thing about Batman is that he has no super powers, but now these 7 different metals from many different universes have been drifting through space, catching on debris, and arrive at just the right time for them to come into contact with Bruce Wayne, and now he's a god?

Did I get that right?

I think they said it made him a conduit for summoning that dark matter god Barbatos

hah that was quick

Everything I have seen regarding the Inhumans has made me believe it would do better on the CW.

This isn't meant to mock the show, but the CW has a built in audience that is already accustomed to television programs that aren't particularly strong on story, or visuals, but instead are just a bit of looney fun. There's nothing on the CW that appeals to me, but from what I have seen it just seems like a better home for this type of production.
