It seems that there is a desire for another chan exodus. Would the site owner consider hosting a /pol/ here?

I would ask for BO but I'm fine if there are other people considered as well

I just don't want another imkampfy situation happening (i.e. terrible moderation)

When you're available I can post my information and then you can delete the post

The user base here hasn't been very receptive to a /pol/ in the past. Mostly because the threads dilute into a mess that tends to spill over into other boards. Politics get discussed here, but all the shitposting that comes with /pol/ would fit better on this site in /sp/

Though the mods here and the admin at 76chan seem to be on pretty good terms, and 76chan (affectionately referred to as bannerchan here) might be more open to the idea. Check out http://76chan.org and ask for Dddudeman.

I'm not saying the team here will say no, but historically it's not been a popular idea.

The situation with /pol/ is a bit complicated. It's really not a clear cut reason of why we say "no" to the idea.

1. Shitposting. Finalchan isn't really about that, it's a discussion-oriented imageboard, not shitpost-oriented. Most /pol/ boards tend to get flooded with shitposts. To which you might ask, why don't you delete the shitposts? That brings me to my next point.

2. Opinions. Everyone's got them. If we delete something that we constitute as a "shitpost" — even if it is or isn't — it might influence backlash. Since the nature of the board is all about opinions, deleting a shitpost might still very well be someone else's legitimate opinion. Deleting someone's opinion is (usually) very poorly recieved and will be considered censorship. Now, we can say that we've not ever considered ourselves a "bastion of free-speech" like 8chan or Masterchan have, but that doesn't magically stop people from being angry. Even though we don't go out of our way to censor people's opinions, deleting something that very well can be considered an opinion (as well as a shitpost in our eyes, possibly) will cause backlash.

It sucks, because I'm really not actually opposed to the idea of having a dedicated board to discussing politics, I just hate the way the others are run on other imageboards (8chan, 4chan, most other imageboards). The nature of /pol/ is usually shitposting, and it'd be hard to break that stigma while simultaneously trying to seem like we're not being censoring faggots.

Now, just because we don't want a /pol/, doesn't mean we discourage or condemn political discussion. We love any form of discussion, and discourage censorship. We just don't want to start something that will probably backfire. Any political discussion can probably be taken to >>>/r/ without being deleted, unless it's something super shitposty (which we'd probably just move to >>>/sp/, not delete).

Like >>621 said, 76chan might be a good fit, as well as endchan if you're looking for more of a drop-in replacement for 8chan.

Shit is indeed hitting the fan over at 8chan. It seems that people will either migrate here or to endchan. Endchan already has a /pol/ board though.

/pol/ is always pure cancer, just get a storm front account and fuck off.

4. There is a very good reason real world politics were banned from discussions on virtually every decent forum, mailing list etc. since fucking forever.

The shit is always hitting the fan at 8chan. Every 3 months finalchan gets an influx of users who swear this is their new home, and a month later they talk about how 8chan has fixed itself and they all go back.

Shitposting is defined as any post without legitimate substance

Don't bother, there's already https://polchan.xyz

I don't think I've ever seen a legitimate political discussion on any /pol/ ever last more than a few post before turning into JEW SHILL NAZI DEGENERATE RACEWAR shitflinging. Even if this is your actual non ironic opinion, it's still shitposting, because youre not explaining your point, you don't even have a point, except that Jews/blacks/whoever is bad, and usually that kind of poster isn't going to listen to a reasoned argument anyway.
And if you try to mod that kind of discussion, those same users will immediately accuse the mods of either taking sides or being DEGENERATE SHILL JEWS themselves, and will find any evidence they can to prove it.

It's just a shitty shitty can of shit that brings out the shit inside people. Political "discussion" ruins family dinners, chans, and lunch at work, and for nothing anyway. Two sides scream at each other, and both go away thinking they are more right then they were before, and if they only just all took my simple one sided view point and did things the way I think it should be done the world would be perfect. It rarely changes anyone's minds enough to alter how they vote.

Also we don't have board owners. Boards are moded by a team to prevent any one person from imposing their will or opinions on a board.

I've got more ranting to do.
/pol/ posters are exactly as bad sjws.
They both judge peoples ideas based on their identities, they both need their safe spaces where no other ideologies are allowed, and they both gain strength from hating certain groups. Sjws and /pol/ both suffer from the echo chamber effect, and both encourage ridiculous points of view with no basis in reality. They both will target individuals and will ruin their lives regardless of the facts. Neither cares about any group but it's own.

/pol/ and Sjws are based on Muh feelings. There's no way to reason with either because their thoughts and beliefs aren't based on reason. "What I feel must be the truth, and I will search till I find the facts that support my feelings."

>/pol/ on finalchan

For what purpose? Any political discussion you want to have can be had on /r/, and any Nazi-LARPing you want to do can be done on /sp/. Fuck legacy boards.
