There are two Catalog links at least on Finalchan theme. Also a non-functioning Catalog link on /1984/.
Also also, mobileshit-style timestamp ("X dicks ago") is ghey. I know it's possible to see real date and time on hover, it's still ghey.

I like the "X hours ago" thing. I live in Australia and so in a different timezone to virtually everyone on the site. Its good to know how long ago something was posted without having to make mental calculations

>Its good to know how long ago something was posted without having to make mental calculations
Substracting 3 or 5 or whatever it is from post time is that taxing? I'm genuinely curious. I can't be the only one who could tell my timezone's difference from either east or west coast years ago.

But overall, sure, there's no problem with this being an option. What is wrong is this being forced with no apparent setting to revert it back to standard behaviour.

…in my sleep. Which I periodically postpone in vain hope of unfucking my sleeping schedule.

But that's the thing, I have no idea what timezone the site uses. My timezone is +10GMT, doing a different calculation based on where the site is hosted is annoying when it is easier for it to just say "x hours ago"

I also don't really get why you'd use anything except "X hours"

Because once I return to a thread, a board or a chan in a month or two I'll have a much harder time getting back on track. I don't know how prevalent this is, but my brain associates events with dates, not with a number of time units that have passed since. For an IB as slow as this one, this is important.
Next, this removes a frame of reference in screencaps. I can create one right now and it would forever say "6 hours ago" for your post.
Finally, this is a trivial calculation that shouldn't take more than 5 seconds for a university graduate to make. This is why I had no idea either why this format is becoming more and more widespread or that such calculations have become hard for an average Internet user.

>>I'll use this post time format because it's less convenient

Convenient doesn't always mean good. For example, memearrowing slowly but steadily erodes one's ability to convey ideas with any measureable degree of complexity in a comprehensible yet succint manner and contributes to emasculation of the language being thus (ab)used.

The only good point you made in that entire post was that it forever marks screencaps.

>he makes several spelling mistakes
>his sentence is grammatically incorrect

Memearrows rule, you drool

He literally asked why I would use the standard format, not why it would be good for everyone.

>>831
>>he posts obscure words trying to sound smart
Wrong. I simply prefer variety.

>>he makes several spelling mistakes

>>his sentence is grammatically incorrect
Inevitable when English is one's third language, I'm afraid. At least I keep trying to improve.

you sound autistic

are you etiv

This, i actually hadn't thought about that.

But it still loses out to X hours, just for simplicity's sake.
